A Daydream or Dream of A Day in Half Moon Bay

My sisters overlooking a beach just north of Half Moon bay. I added some desaturation, surface blur and a high pass filter to get the effect of a memory or dream. One of my sisters is from Kansas and I’m sure that today she’d like to dream of this place for a while. Enjoy, Carol!

Anaheim Ducks

No, not the hockey team, the real ones. This team is resting or flat out asleep. A few stand guard while the others keep napping in the morning sun.

A little Worried

Addison is a little worried about this ride- she didn’t quite like it but it ended up OK.

Waiting For Lincoln

Addison and Daddy wait for Lincoln to finish the boat ride.

Where The Fall Colors Are – San Jose, CA

The last few days, I’ve been, not in Orange County, but San Jose, CA where the most fall like season in years has brought unusual color to the area. Perhaps Orange County will see some of this in December?

Today’s Green in Orange County

Today’s green in Orange County photography brought to you from Anaheim, CA. The weather is definitely cooling off with highs in the 70s. I actually saw someone playing tennis in long sleeves.

I used the telephoto lens today but there was plenty of light so the tendency of the camera to be at f5 or f6 still allowed plenty of light, even under the largest Fichus trees.

The Main Effect – Wasn’t Photoshop

This picture was not photoshopped- until today. I put the original first in order below. The basic effect was achieved by a lucky combination of a 1/8 second exposure at f22, slight directional movement of the camera and a breeze. The photoshop applied level adjustments, high pass filter, a little dodging on the tree trunks and one version included some glowing edges effect at a low opacity.
