California Small to Medium Business Cash Flow Solutions – The Answer?

It’s no secret that California businesses of every size, whether small, medium or even large have cash flow problems. California is one of the most difficult environments for businesses. Regulations, taxes and now cash flow and credit problems create operational nightmares for business owners. They are seeking to solve all of these problems at once, but perhaps the most arduous and persistent of business limiting issues in the last several years, since the economic meltdown of 2008 is business cash flow. Traditional credit sources locked down and left businesses struggling to feed their operations with the cash needed to supply materials and pay employees.

Entering the fray to solve the problem is a little known service called factoring. Factoring services are often the answer to business cash flow problems. They fill in the gap between 30-60-90 day paying customers and businesses who need money now.

If you’re looking for solutions for business cash flow, factoring may be just the ticket.

Factoring Conference 2012 Fast Track Video Marketing

I’m speaking today to a class at the 2012 Factoring Conference. What is factoring? Since I won’t have a chance to find out at the conference because I will be speaking at a class, I had to look up in advance of my appearance at the 2012 Factoring Conference in Long Beach.

Factoring is a cash flow solution. If a business runs a cash expense to produce something, say tables and chairs, and they sell to a large distributor like Home Depot or Wal Mart or even smaller local chains and stores, it might be a while before that vendor actually pays for the delivery of the product. It could be 30, 60, 90 days or somewhere in between. What if the product has to be tested, certified, validated etc. before it is accepted and paid for? The business that delivered this product is still waiting for payment and that just might cause a problem with continuing to operate the business and pay expenses and employees.

A factoring service provider steps in as the middle man, makes sure the client is going to pay, and funds the operation of the business- all for a nominal fee.

This is obviously a valuable service, but many people have no clue that it’s referred to as factoring, other than perhaps the people who are in the factoring business and are attending the 2012 Factoring conference. The job of the factoring service providers is to discover ways to meet their market where their customers are trying to solve problems. The old Wayne Gretzky adage of knowing where the puck is going to be. With SEO and keyword research, it is often a matter of a little imagination and putting yourself in the shoes, mindset and emotions (above all, emotions) of a business owner dealing with cash flow problems. Their search may not deal with factoring at all and the folks at the conference are trying to figure out what message reaches their market. A simple post that talks about business owners dealing with the economy, short term credit, business credit problems, payroll problems, how to run a business, how to get a vendor to pay more quickly, how to deal with late paying vendors, the problems they deal with on their level when trying to get people to pay up. People who move at a snail’s pace when it’s time to pay you and who keep your business held hostage. You can imagine that tapping into the emotion of just a few potential clients at this level and delivering a message of hope to solve their problems can well be all you need to proceed with a business arrangement without ever having to cold call and shove your message down the throat of the person who isn’t even your decision maker at a business.

One of the methods of getting fast response, is of course video. Often in a niche, it’s just a matter of hours, days or weeks for a video to gain a firm foothold and deliver a timely and effective message to buyers. This one is simply a demonstration of the reach of video for the class, which I have entitled

What’s In A Logo Like Under Armour

Under Armour Logo red and black with textI never heard of it before, but then I’m not a boxing enthusiast. Haven’t boxed since high school gym when a punch nearly took me into an ether-state of semi consciousness. The coach said that was enough and pulled me out. The end of boxing since and now the gray hairs in my beard are creeping into my hairline.

Nontheless, Under Armour gear and clothing looks cool. Probably too cool for me to wear.

The logo, however is awesome. It fits all the rules of a logo. Recognizable, unique and simple.

Google wants to get into your brain or at least on your head

I just read today on Search Engine Roundtable that Google launched Project Glass–  eyeglasses that provide Google services nonstop and take visual cues, geolocation data and voice prompts to get you going and keep you going all day and all night.  If privacy concerns annoys you now then this concept should annoy you even more.  According to Moore’s Law,  this technology should be pretty much commonplace within just a few more years.

They didn’t mention how they would deal with ads. How about a pop-up for used Rolex watches? I wonder if there will be a way to turn off ads from Google too?

Well, that’s it for now. I have to go hide from my computer for a while. I feel like I’m being watched.

San Antonio Assisted Living – A Story of Hope For A Mom

Learn how assisted living with style for seniors in San Antonio Texas is right around the corner.

Sean Carpenter was a 56-year-old father of four–one in college and three in high school. For years, John has lived comfortably on a 2 1/2 acre spread with plenty of trees and beautiful gardens, 38 miles north of San Antonio. John’s mother had lived independently for fifteen years in her own house on Sean’s property. No one had ever thought about elder care or assisted living because mom seemed full of endless energy and was very active every day. She seemed to take on more activity every few months. She was constantly involved in many community causes. Even after her retirement from teaching, she found plenty of projects and local community organizations like her former school’s PTA and after school programs that needed her experience and dedication.

Her mornings started with a comfortable breakfast of bagels, cream cheese and scrambled eggs- and ample reading time- something she always wanted. She loved to read and kept up on everything from news to politics and of course, as a teacher, enjoyed classical literature. She had a scheduled route of engagements that kept her busy all week long. One morning while moving items to her car for presentation at a seminar, she tripped over the threshold while carrying a box of handouts and fell. She quickly got up and re-assembled the handouts and drove to the seminar in San Antonio. Losing her balance was embarrassing and she said nothing to anyone but the growing pain from the fall forced her to make an unscheduled trip to the doctor where it was discovered she had a serious fracture in her hip.

What followed was a regimen of several weeks of bed rest, then physical therapy and recovery. Somehow the fall and fracture drained the usual high energy out of mom and recovery was unexpectedly slow. It was difficult for her to walk for nearly 3 months. Her former energy never fully returned and she was forced to give up some of her volunteer activities. Months later she still carefully braced herself when she moved in and out of her house negotiating every step cautiously. Six months later Sean’s mother fell on the same threshold, hurting her shoulder. It seemed like mom was on a downhill trend despite her usual vibrant attitude and lifestyle.

Sean worked downtown San Antonio and had to travel several times a month. His wife worked closer to home but still it seemed like no one was able to really look after mom and everyone was worried. Finally, mom suggested that it might be time for her to move to a location closer to her activities and where there was someone there to always check up on her and make sure she was doing OK. The family had heard about such living arrangements where folks had their freedom but there was closer attention paid to their needs and well being. This was good too, because now, mom took medications related to her injuries and sometimes could not remember if she missed a dose. That was just one of the many such concerns that an assisted living facility could make sure was looked after.

Mom was able to come and go and to visit Sean and the kids whenever everyone was gathered at home for a weekend event or holiday. Her new home was actually more enjoyable because not only did she make new friends with neighbors- hardly a surprise with her outgoing personality, but Sean was actually able to stop by for lunch or visits after work since it was close to his office.

Assisted living is flexible enough for the active senior as well as anyone needing a higher level of on-call help. If your family has found that mom or dad are beginning to need more help and more attention and your schedule and responsibilities don’t allow you to personally provide what you know they deserve, call Franklin Park assisted living in San Antonio at (210) 404-1444 to find out how mom can enjoy a rich full life and also have the security of knowing someone is always nearby to make sure she is not alone or unable to help herself in an emergency.

Want to Find Out JetBlue Pilot’s Name? – Clayton…

If you’re trying to find out the name of the Jet Blue pilot who is described as suffering a medical condition, don’t look to the media because if they know, they aren’t saying. Witnesses have reported him screaming and yelling about everything from Al Queda to Iraq and even possibly a bomb.

This guy has no name yet. I’m trying to find out, as are a lot of other people. It seems pretty obvious that the media prefers to withhold the names in these kind of situations for quite a long time.

I’ll keep you posted…

12:46 PST AP: The airline would not release the pilot’s name or medical history.

Poor guy just lost it. I guess his name is Clayton Osbon
