Picasa For Mac Leaves Me Feeling Trapped

Picasa is live. Way live. One click and your entire album is synched to the web on your Picasaweb album. Nice. But on the Mac, after over a year of releases the product still has no drag and drop functionality.

It leaves me feeling trapped when I want to blog or use the picture in a document. Yes, I can certainly reveal the photo in finder and drag from there but I have to admit, iPhoto left me spoiled in that regard and as is always the case, I’m in a hurry to get things done and all the extra clicks and more if I’ve modified the photo, well it’s like something government run.

If a release of Picasa would include drag and drop, I might leave iPhoto forever.

After the pulp is blended, it is poured into a vat where it is then separated from the water on a flat screen. Then the paper is transferred to a flat surface to dry.

From my wife’s after-school art program. Paper making by hand. This part of the process sifts the pulp on a screen. The paper is then dried on a flat surface.

Visited my cousin’s house in Acton in February. We sat at breakfast and the sunrise hit this bird feeder so I grabbed the ol’ Canon and took a few shots of the morning meal for the birds.

Black Sand Beach – Maui

Taken January, 2007 at Maui’s Waianapanapa State Park. This black sand beach sparkles like diamonds in the sun. The unique combination of erosion of volcanic deposits in the water and the formation of the inlet where this beach is found create a rare sight. Maui’s only truly black sand beach. I love visiting this spot, and one tour bus I took deemed it not worth the stop!

One of my earlier retouches in photoshop. The original photo was pretty much washed out in the background due to exposure required for the subject bride. I cloned in the clouds from another photo with the stamp tool and blurred them. I had not yet begun using bracketing.

After our last major rain storm in Orange County, I took a morning walk in Fullerton on the hiking trails by the Brea Dam. The sun was out and spring flowers in February were the norm.
