I borrowed my daughter’s Sony HDR -SR1 to augment some wedding video. To be honest, while it’s a decent enough camera and has a great zoom, it can’t hold a candle to the Canon T2i. Indoor lighting really shows the difference. There was a lot of footage I just couldn’t use where the T2i thrived under the same conditions. I was considering buying it from her, but if I’m going to invest more money, it will be for another T2i for those second vantage points.

Next wedding will be with just the T2i for video.

I’m spending about 30 percent of my time tonight waiting for Final Cut to render changes to a real estate virtual tour video. It’s just enough waiting to go crazy staring at the progress bar and not quite enough to do something else without getting slowed down making the video.

You think your computer is pretty fast and that’s great until you start working with video. Then the crawl begins. Not only do you crawl while rendering video, but your computer tends to acquire a leisurely pace at best when it’s doing anything else while rendering video.

I made a series of videos for homes in south Florida and PGA National homes back in March.
