SEO For Images?

February 18th, 2010 davekeys No comments

I was just driving around thinking about how databases work (Google is one of the largest databases) and about thinking outside the box for SEO. Then the idea came to me to optimize for images directly. This is part of an assessment of that idea. Can you optimize an image and have it show up in “image result for…” on Google? I suspect you may be able to.

I’m trying an optimization for something with little competition, my name, Dave Keys which is fairly unique- not too many blokes are named Keys, and only a very few of them are striving for any web presence so results should be rapid if this theory works.

Dave Keys – Taking Back All of Page One of Google

December 25th, 2009 davekeys No comments

Competitor creep has started in for my standing on page one of Google for Dave Keys. I’m going to fix that starting right now.

Dave Keys is the owner of the websites by the same name, starting with the .net domain where I last posted some pictures about humpback whales in Maui.

Dave Keys | Facebook should be there too, but another one is. It keeps trading places with me.

Dave Keys is an emerging Orange County SEO expert. That’s what I use two domains for. Solutions By Dave is also used for Orange County SEO.

Dave Keys also publishes Orange County Photography on pennycafe.com.

Dave Keys is a web designer based in Orange County and Murrieta, CA (yes, I commute most days) with 17 years experience in aspects of information technology including database management, data mining, development and web design and optimization.

Dave Keys is a semi-pro and hobbyist photographer who likes to photograph people and places. I enjoy publishing photographs on my OC Photography website.

Orange County SEO Expert Dave Keys

I wrote a short article on the Solutions By Dave website. The importance of thoroughly analyzing your keywords for any SEO campaign, short term or long term cannot be stressed enough as shown by the illustrated study on the Fullerton real estate market. Sometimes the keywords that come to the mind of a business owner are the farthest thing from what actual customers are typing into the search engines. In this article titled, Orange County SEO Expert Finding the Right Keywords, I show how very few people are directly searching for a listing agent. The buzz is all around one specific key phrase, Fullerton homes for sale. You can read the article in full at the website.

Orange County Web Design by Dave Keys

An important part of web design is the literary equivalent of a wireframe. I’m talking about SEO first and design second. You want the site to be fully SEO ready the very first time Google sees it. Keywords, description, content, A tags, H tags IMG tags, everything should be fully optimized with titles and content. Even if the site is completely black and white, the fully optimized content should be present on opening day. In Orange County web design, there are millions of searches and sites that compete for those first page results. There is no easy way up. Orange County web designers are all swimming up the same stream and all SEO efforts are in the same environment so the only way to get on top is to be better, more relevant and more widely exposed than your competition.

Second Verse, Same as the First

So, Joe Biden said what many of us might have said. He would stay away from confined spaces like public transportation, citing that if anyone on a plane sneezes, it’ll be all over the aircraft. If you’re feeling timid about catching the flu then it makes sense.

What doesn’t make sense is how readily the white house press secretary is ready to lie to my face like I’m stupid and claim that Joe B. meant something else. It seems that’s often the case when I’m told by the government what something means when it really means what it looks like.
Occam’s razor
a principle named after William of Occam, a 14th century philosopher. The generalization states that, if there are a number of explanations for observed phenomena, the simplest explanation is preferred. Called also scientific parsimony.
