The SEO industry is a tough one to be involved in as it’s filled with so much uncertainty, People who have no idea what they are doing and have been burned by SEO companies with inferior or even harmful SEO practices. Dave Keys is an SEO expert who has been working on SEO for the last decade and works in SEO for a living. The SEO industry is always changing and SEO companies who employ tactics that worked 2 years ago, can often get diminished in Google for employing strategies that ignore Google’s focus and direction. One of the main key factors is entity. Here’s what can happen fast if the entity is not strong or well defined.

What Happened To My Name, Dave Keys? Back a few years ago, you could type my name, Dave Keys into Google. The results would fill all of page one and part of page 2. An upscale musician who played piano Jazz etc. will show up somewhere on page 2. His name is spelled different than mine. My last name is spelled KEYS but his is spelled KEYES.A few years back he started showing up for my name on page one but always toward the bottom. Then Google started suggesting: Did you mean Dave KEYES?Several months ago his name started moving up in search results and took over the #1 spot, not for Dave KEYES, but for MY spelling KEYS. My website, davekeys.com moving further down below his sever results for various music and info about his performances. Fortunately, last summer I decided to start branding the phrase Dave Keys Media. That still showed up over most of California for my name as a Google Brand (right column of search results)This week, Google took away everything (including Dave Keys Media) but my YouTube profile result. Now you have to search “Dave Keys Media” to see that.Over the last year and months I disappeared from page one:Website – goneLinkedIn – goneTwitter. – goneFB page – goneAboutMe – goneVideo thumbs featured (I had plenty until the last few weeks) – goneWas it something I said?DAVEKEYS.COMHome – Dave Keys Media SEO Video Photo Marketing SEODave Keys SEO Expert and Marketing Consultant in Menifee, Temecula, Murrieta and Southern California

  • ActiveDave KeysAuthorNot a lot lately although it’s a 20 YO domain with a lot of older links and pretty decent domain rating…
    • Nick PellyGroup expertDave Keys since it is an established site I would go through it an do some innerlinking. Hit the home page with all versions of a naked url. Hit any blog posts with an author statement at the bottom of each post with a link to a profile of your with your name as the anchor text. This is the free way to boost your name before sending any outside links.1
